I have a curiosity. There seem to be a vast array of options with many things that we discuss on this forum. There are plenty of chairs, desks, sofas, dining tables, and coffee tables to choose from (you get the idea). I'm not spoiled for choice, however, when it comes to floor lamps that are actually capable of lighting a room.
My bedroom currently has one object that I dislike in terms of design, but love for its function. It's an awful brass floor lamp from the 70's that was bought at goodwill a long time ago. It can brighten up an entire room by itself. I am still in my moving around phase and still in school, so having a great floor lamp to do this rather than install many light fixtures in each location is highly beneficial. My issue is that I would love to have a sexier, better made, and more modern lamp that is capable of lighting a room and complementing my other beautiful pieces.
Does anyone have any suggestions? It seems that most of these lamps shoot light up and reflect off of the ceiling. Please share your thoughts. I am anxious to hear.
