Very interesting opinions so far. I'm not stressing about the chip, but if there's a way I can make it look or function better, I would. I think it's part of the fun. I enjoy taking care of things that I appreciate, not to the point of obsession, I believe.

My goodness...
Greetings, Dun
If it were my chair, I'd also leave it alone. The chip really doesn't look all that bad, plus it's part of the chair's history. Any attempted repair more than likely will be just as noticeable...
just a thought,
Mark
ps could the chair be placed so that the front legs are on top of a deep pile (shag...or whatever) rug?

a buzzed innocent thought...
You could always set one of those pair's of "wind-up" false teeth next to the chipped leg...or a taxidermy'd beaver??...or a fake termite?? or???
Why not??
Tacky Aunt Mark
