Greetings, I have a Chemex Coffee maker complete with wooden holder and wooden ball to hold leather throng. I bought it in the '70's as a back-up and forgot about it. Found it in the closet and want to sell on E-Bay. The problem is there are no patent numbers or Chemex stamps on the bottom. Were knock-offs made? Appreciate your help.

When a product is...
as successful as the Chemex knock-offs are quite likely. The Chemex patent was quite strong but has expired in the mid sixties. The protection of the typical hour glass shape and the wooden grip is still valid and Peter Schlumbohm's design is of course synonimous with Chemex. In other words there is not much legal room for imitations.
In spite of that I am suspicious because of the lack of the round Chemex stamp.

Thank you for your response. Glad I didn't put it on E-Bay. Does anyone else have any info?
