I'm looking for a Nelson credenza like the one below. I'm just wondering if it would be possible to change the color of the Masonite sliding doors (I believe that's the material they're made of). I realize that it would negatively affect the value, but can they be painted with a good result? It seems like most that I see are black, which is not my preference. I've also seen some that have damaged doors, and I'm wondering if they can be repaired. Thanks.

agree ...
either make replacement doors for a vintage cabinet and store the originals, or ...
just build the credenza to your own specs. with basic woodworking skills and tools, these credenzas are fairly easy to make. the most difficult part is finding the right legs.
of course it's not going to be a real Nelson piece, but it's certainly an option that could help with color choices and also size restrictions when there are any.

Yes, just about any hardware store will have the door pulls, which I think are generically called "cup pulls."
Arthur: I believe the topic had turned toward how NOT to F-up the credenza, by making replacement doors. But whatever the case, let's keep the conversation polite.

I was answering the op response about my lack of help which was the origial topic. The whole thread was so vague and void of any research that it was impossible to offer help outside of the obvious.
And in future, unless you are now the boss around here, kindly refrain from telling other people how to conduct themselves. My respons is nothing compared to some of the users so start with them.
Not the boss of me; he did it first
Arthur, I have to say that you sound an awful lot like my 5-year-old. Except for the part about f**king vintage furniture. She wouldn't say that.
poach, thanks for the tip. It does look like they're called cup pulls, as well as "round flush pulls" and "finger pulls". here's a link that uses all 3 terms. tynellbuyer, thanks for the additional option. I'll see if I can gently pop them out without damaging the panel.
