Has anyone ever replaced danish cord with a fabric? I have a set of Moller style teak chairs I am restoring and I would like to replace the cord with fabric or leather but I am unsure how to support the fabric. I am thinking I need to attach a plywood support but I am unsure how to do this. Any info would be appreciated!

There is a woven mesh that serves as the support, with padding on top of that. No solid board, or anything like that.

Thanks tchp! I actually just found another thread with the mesh mentioned! Seems pretty straightforward! Thanks again for the quick reply.

I do believe that this stuff...
I do believe that this stuff might well be the same material - either the standard grade, or the "Plus" version of Phifertex.

I stripped one of these...
I stripped one of these chairs down to replace the original vinyl and it had a good quality burlap stretched on the frame. I'd probably go with synthetic, though---stronger in the long run.
I think elastic webbing would be more comfortable, though.
Wood would be a travesty! Not comfortable at all and it wouldn't fit the curves of the frame unless you went to the trouble of doing molded plywood and that would just be a crazy amount of work in the end.

Oh, and also-
I hope you're not thinking of doing this because redoing woven cord seems out of reach. There's another big long thread here about that, if you're interested.
