I don't think it's by Rapson. The Australian I was thinking of, Douglas Snelling, isn't it either. Look at the frame sides. Notice the curve then the ends. On the known chairs by Risom, Rapson etc, the ends are squared off. The chair in question ends in a curved point. Must be a German piece?
We have a couple
of the woven armless chairs on hand right now though I don't know who designed them. They are obviously derivative of the Risom chairs for Knoll. They are quite well made and are marked "Made in Germany" on the bottom. The odd thing too is the scale. They are lower and more reclined than a dining or desk-height chair, but not really low and loungey They are kind of an intermediate size. Maybe an occasional chair that can be used with a seating group or as an additional pull-up? I do think the armless version is more graceful than the armchair. When we got these I looked for some attribution, but came up empty handed. Sorry I don't have more info to share.
