Several people over the years have asked me the history of this chair .It is a almost a dead ringer for the
Herman Miller 670 chair designed by Eames .... BUT it stops there the chair has bolts and screws on the side the base is different not like miller and the veneer is not rosewood . Unlike the plycraft and Selig those two chairs have a look of its own this is a early day reproduction made for the Federated dept store chain in 1965 to 1990. Those stores were Bloomingdales, Foleys . Richs, and several other stores as well as W.J. Sloan. As most know Eames designed a seemeless wood chair were the cushion drop in .
These chairs all have the screw in pad . I have had several of these chairs in our shop and most say manufactured for Bloomingdales NYC never a manafactures name on it .
Hope this helps
