Does anyone know if these chairs were ever made with suede cushion and backrest and ultimately are they genuine? The only labels attached state Made in Italy.

Yes
At least Knoll-authorized versions did come available in a variety of upholstery (leather, suede, fabric, etc.).

I found 4 of these chairs with brown suede yesterday. Did you ever find any more information about the chairs? I'm trying to determine what is value of these. Additional pictures available if you would like to see them.
Thanks

It can bechallenging to verify "authenticity" of these in the absence of labels. Yours look pretty good though. Would need to see more photos.

The (wood) front edge of the first image should be following the curve of the chrome base. I can't tell from the image of the second set. The ends of the chrome should not have metal caps but polished welded ends regardless of who made them.
