That was my opinion also at first , but it is realy original wil post some close up pictures later!
it is not painted ! it is 120cm X 88CM X 43CM
it is in very good condition consideing its age ! stil haves the original Pastoe key.
because the inside was covered with this nasty self-adhesive foil (took days to remove) it is like new inside!

Birch series
"Braakman small cabinet that had been treated with creosalt.....they even wrote "ä rare walnut edition"...Now if this hasn't been done by "Messitup & Scarper" I don't know what has..it's terrible.."
Like it or not Jim, but the Pastoe birch series were available with three different kinds of stains. The Pastoe Birch series catalogue from March 1952 even states a 5% raise of the price for Walnut, Gold or Mahogany color.

Hello Judith
I threw away my photo's of those "terrible" walnut Braakmans..and now they have also been removed from your website....of course Pastoe did other colours...that I don't deny but they never ever did a botched job..here is one of the suspect walnut cabinets...althought the photo isn't that clear you can still see where someone has smudged the brown stain onto the cabinet...whilst leaving the original Birch almost intact..they would not of done this..Two weeks ago in the N.R.C. there was an article about Pastoe (100 years Pastoe; now showing at an exhibition in the Kunsthal, Rotterdam) and they stated they never made any money from the Berkenserie due to their high standard of quality control..I don't think those photo's I have seen of the walnut serie would of passed any sort of inspection...however you may want to put the photo's back up here and let D.A'ers decide...I will forward this photo to Pastoe...I hope you post yours...I don't want to have a fight..seconds away round one :-)..
cheers Jim
