Castiglioni designed Mezzadro stool QUESTION  

I recently purchased a stool that appears to be a variant of a Achille Castiglioni designed Mezzadro stool, and I'd like to find out more about it's history.

Nearly every stool I have seen has a flat styled stem, but this one has a tubular stem. I did find another one with a tubular base on a retail website, but there was no information given other than the title "Achille Castiglioni designed Mezzadro stool"... and it had a red seat rather than brass.

Can anyone provide me with any information about this stool? I'd love to know more about it!
