Hi everyone. My 1st post here.
I'm having a clear out and have a Plano Folding Table.
Been searching around but not found a lot of info on these.
This is what I've found so far and going on pictures of the label it seems to be an original but not sure. It was given to me some years ago so I don't actually know how old it is!
G. PIRETTI FOLDING TABLE "PLANA"
Designer: GIANCARLO PIRETTI
Year made unknown, possibly 1970?s approx.
Manufacturer: CASTELLI ITALY
Dimensions: W 84 cm, D 84 cm, H 72 cm
Can anyone confirm if they think this looks like an original and what age it is, and what you think of it?
Many thanx

.
I have one and it's exactly the same, so that's a yes from me.
There's also one here to answer all your questions, remembering it's in Australia where we are damn expensive!

I have
the planta umbrella & coatstand and some plias, these are all very nice designs. I believe they are fully labeled?
Definitly an original. The springload system is to complex to knockoff.

Thanx "tktoo" Yeah it is...

Yeah it is very well made and you wouldn't think it would hold together, but with the sprung-loaded sections inside each table top section they snap into place and hold everything solid 🙂
Only takes about 30 seconds to put up or take down also.
Thanx "Ball"
That's really good to know it's an original, many thanx for letting me know 🙂
wow that ones isn't cheap! I would be happy to get half that lol
Many thanx for the link. It's interesting to see that one was made 1978. I've now found a few more links and can see they were made from 1970 & 1971 period, but possibly from what I found so far the older versions were only white! (maybe)
I also have a couple of Tulip style chairs that came with the table. Not sure who made them at all but they do go well together. Great design from yesteryear..
Thanx again for the info.
Thanx "bj"
Yes I can see now the spring-loaded system would be something very hard to copy & I'm guessing would be pattended as it works so well.
Oh and yes, the Castelli label can just be seen on the 3rd photo top most section.
Cheers for the replies everyone..most helpful 🙂

"Is this an original"? No....
"Is this an original"? No. It's a cheap knock-off of a very complicated design with a fake label.
