While I am happy that Mazda brought back the RX to the US (Japan still has RX7 production) the RX-8 has lost the sinuous grace of the 7. Its fairly clunky and boxy by comparison - feels almost like a sedan. And the compromise of the 'back seat' and resulting suicide doors? Bah!..extraneous nonsense! People who buy RX7's either don't have friends, make the friends drive their own cars, or cram them into the space behind the seats (I fit 3 folks into mine. My brother fit 5 into his old 7- yikes!)

SDR, I was looking round the museum at autostadt earlier in the month and they have an Atlantique on the 3rd floor, it was quite a shock discovering it! Really is a beautiful car the detailing is out of this world
Have you guys seen the Mazda Cosmo? it was the kind of the forerunner to the RX, really pretty, very expensive today if you can find one 🙁
Thanks, Pete
for seeing the (distant) relationship between the Bugatti and the Mazda. Admittedly, the RX-8 is no pure sports car -- but I come from a long line (OK, my father and me) of sedan-and-station wagon types who insist on a certain level of practicality in any set of wheels. And thanks to Lucifer for posting the cleanest possible (without modification) RX-8 ! Wouldn't it look sweet with a set of chromed full Moon wheel covers ?
That early Mazda sport model (cetainly never seen on this side of the Pacific) has echoes of some Italian designs. (Was it a prototype or show car ?) In that, it's reminiscent of the entire early history of Volvo, in which every single model or ptototype owed major debt to one or another (mostly American) designs. . .

Some good info on the Cosmo wikipedia link below
As you say definitely an Italian influence present, it borrows heavily from the Ferrari 400 Superamerica, also some similarity with the Alfa Spider especially the 1st ?boattail? version although to be fair they did debut very close to one another

Tuff question !
maan I hate this type of question although I'm eager to answer , but where do you start when your a complete petrol-head !
Surely the Citroen DS must be right up there considering it's period of manufacture...50's, 60's,70's.
Sorry....can't work out how to add an image.

that?s beautiful Setag! I love the colour combination, I was visiting mum and dad in CA last month there was a classic car dealership on Santa Monica Blvd they had a couple in stock, I couldn?t think of a better car to cruise round southern California in
i'm a big fan of classic MB's always had a soft spot for the Pagoda SL
Yeah, me too. . .
That's a nice looking one on Euro trim -- no ungainly American bumpers.
I always regretted that this model was never sold by American dealers in manual-transmission form. Ditto Jag XJ sedan (another unique individual) as far as I know -- but I could be wrong there.
