If all of your favorite designers, architects, and furniture builders all got together to build a car, what elements would you like to see in that car?

This is my list so far-
George Nelson speedometer.
Eames 610 bucket seats in the front.
Barcelona bench seat in the back.
Emco aluminum wheels.
Hans Wegner Papa Bear center console armrest.

And -- he's the one who made an armless lounge chair from a black leather Rover (?) seat, long ago . . .

Rocket cars
This subject reminded me of a nice short film I saw recently on youtube (silent but set to music) of a US automobile design office in the late 50's. Nice mcm office interiors with lots of Eames on view, afficionados of US auto design may recognise the models?

Remember way back in 1979,
when Lincoln offered 4 versions of the Mark IV designed (or slightly restyled) by fashion designers? Our neighbor had the Pucci version. Tragic.

Here's the full length video. I know I had seen that before.

Darling !
Thanks for that. The Designer Cuntinentals . . . gad, what a country we are. Just look at those cars: more overhang back AND front than even the most ambitious Wrightian cantilevered carport . . .
Sort of The Toonerville Trolley as envisioned by a stoned Disney artist with a long weekend to fill . . . ? Or by a demented Art Center School graduate with a hot idea for a motorized double-wide Barris-enhanced Hollywood display coffin . . .

Fab!
My dearest SDR,
Through you, I have just learned a new word and/or terminology. I shall attempt to use that wonderful word at least twice per day over the next week. I've always had a bit of trouble saying the c-word, but as you have demonstrated, it can be done with style.
Many thanks,
Aunt Mark
