Hi,
I feel I have seen this fixture many time in my life but I can NOT find any thing on line like it (with thick glass).
Constructed of glass and brass.
Wiring and hardware looks to be 50's or 60's.
9 1/4 tall (without tubing) and 22 1/4 wide (largest glass disk).
It has a UL label with no mention of a manufacture.
It's also very heavy. Over 50 lbs.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
DjL
I owned one like it with a single disc...
I bought one very much like it from a high end furniture store(Adesso) in Boston in the early 90's.It had a single disc of heavy glass, and cost me about $375 on sale. This store was connected to the Four Seasons Hotel and carried nothing but the best!
Are UL labels for US makers only?
Thanks Tulipman. I did some research on Adesso and they do sell very nice high end furniture. I guess if you bought your lamp in the 90's, mine is not as old as I thought. Maybe they are just not by the same maker. Do you remember who makes yours?
Are UL labels for US makers only?
Are there any identifiable properties (maker, date) that you can get from the UL label?
Well,I am an idiot-
Alas,I do not remember the maker, nor the labelling,as I left it in my Harvard Square apartment when I moved out 3 years ago.I recall it had 2 or 3 lengths of black tubing to ceiling mount it.I left that and an original LARGE brass sputnick lamp in the bedroom.Aaargh-the pain!
