And Rockybird, you may very well be right about the black being the less common color than the orange. I was just going by what I found on searches around the time that I found it (a year or more ago) and there were not many.
Whatever the color, these don't show up all that often. I do love your orange one though!

Yes, these are rare. I agree they are really cool and rare clocks! I will post pics after I treat it again, hopefully this weekend.

follow up
Just a follow up on the clock. After a second treatment, it looks much better. I may decide to do the rim at some point, but I am pretty happy with it as. It's not perfect, but then it's almost 60 yrs old.
