I have a camel colored theatre couch from dwr and was thinking about putting an eames lounge next to it. Would it be better to get a black eames lounge or dark chocolate brown eames lounge to sit next to the camel colored sofa?

My thoughts are the black are a little too popular, which is why I was considering brown. Thanks

Wouldn't that be a bit too much leather in one grouping?

That is a good point. Never...
That is a good point. Never thought of that. We have kids, so I prefer to buy leather so they don't destroy if you know what I mean.

I agree
Brown and camel are analogous tones and will help create a clam atmosphere. I also think that it's too much leather, which would give a sterile appearance. Can one get Krypton or another microsuede on Eames lounges? In a rich cocoa that sould look nice...and be virtually indestructible as well.

Brown - and leather is the on...
Brown - and leather is the only thing to have if you have kids especially when your kids know other kids less schooled in the care, appreciation and value of classic furniture....I know this to be true.

Brown --
if the camel is the right tone to go with it. There are warmer and cooler browns and camels, and it's possible to have an awkward match, I believe. The couch in the photo isn't as warm as I expect of camel. . .on my screen, anyway.
You can compensate for "too much leather" by putting fabric pillows on the couch, and with an appropriately fuzzy carpet, maybe ?

Well this camel color (as I see it) is problematic...black might be better as SDR suggests...

dark brown
and then warm everything up with fuzzy-textured pillows and throws. Lots of wool, maybe some fur.
I keep meaning to make some pillows out of a flokati throw rug that I have had laying around. I love leather and fuzzy wool together. LOVE it.

I would suggest that
instead of the Eames Lounge chair in leather, you instead consider getting a Saarinen Womb chair and ottoman in something like a red or blue hopsack.
That would look real nice and it would compliment your sofa. I agree with the others...abit too much leather.

Personally
I think blue would look dreadful with that camel, as would red, unless it was dark, almost burgundy.
But my personal preference would be for black, not brown with that shade of 'camel' ..
and maybe a dark red rug to pull them together.

meant to reply to this earlier but got distracted - Black!!
Black. Brown and camel and the wood on the Eames and just blah. Black will be crisper and more dramatic, and the wood on the Eames will bring in browns (walnut) or camels (palisander)
Also - I always think the brown leather Eames is blah to begin with - no contrast between the wood and the leather. Add a camel couch to that and its blah-a-rama.

I still think a cocoa brown
which is lighter and closer in tone to the sofa. A cocoa color would also allow for contrast with the wood on the Eames lounge. But even better is a suggestion of the womb chair. I love mine and I think it's a more flexible design than the eames.
