At this point I'm Pretty sure this is not Cado. But I may be wrong. If anyone has any info that would be great. The major difference is that the shelves area round 35 3/ 4' long. Cado is 31 1/2' long. The other difference is the brass inserts. Is this a knockoff of just a different version? Thanks!

When you say "brass inserts,...
When you say "brass inserts, are you referring to the inserts in the holes in the shelves (where the brass hangers attach)? If so, are you going off of pictures or do you have the shelves in your possession? I ask because I have legit Cado Royal shelves (31.5") that have inserts like that, but they're made of wood. Cado shelves are MDF so I presume these inserts are to add strength.

yes the inserts are brass. ...
yes the inserts are brass. The verticals have brass "inserts" too. This system is at my home and the first type of Cado system I bought. Since then I have bought more pieces for the unit but they are different length w/o the brass inserts (just the wood inserts). Thats what got me thinking its a different maker all together. I do love the current shelving system even though it may not be Cado but will probably have to let it go. I won't be able to find additional sections easily..

I have some uprights with brass inserts as well (technically they're brass-colored aluminum, which the Danes seem to love for some reason). They came from a different source than the shelves I mentioned. The uprights with brass inserts also came with two unmistakably Cado cabinets (teak with the basketweave front). My guess is they're different iterations of the same unit from Cado, but I'm no expert. You might email the folks at Aardewerk en Zo; they seem to be quite the authority on all things Cado.

I have those brass inserts lining the holes on my wooden shelves, but it is 31.5 inches long as well. It is made of solid teak. No particle board. I was told I had an early version Cado. Her father bought it in London in the 50's. I think there is a "Made in Denmark" stamp on it (I haven't had it down in a long time). No control sticker or any other sort of marking.
The person I bought it from had another bay with some shelves that did not have brass inserts. They were particle board with teak veneer. They fit, but I can tell the difference in colour and it bothers me so I don't use it.
