C and I embossed without HM logo on Eames fiberglass chair ID help
Hi,
I have a set of four, with the C and I embossed in the fiber and without any other marking, no logo, no stickers. There's a little logo CMT on every shockmounts. An other thing's that's strange is that the shells haven't any wide position marking.
They have the same shape and weight as other original Herman Miller shells.
The chairs come from a factory near the german and switzerland border.
A french specialist in HM furniture tell me they were Vitra shells made under licence HM but he was not sure . And he says that it was a society called CENTURA (German or Danish Society, he doesn't remember anymore) that has imported Nelson and Eames furniture for the North Europe near 60'. But all my search on google about Centura are vain.
Did someone heard about this society ?
And can someone help us finding the signification of C I embossed on our chairs?
Thanks in advance !
Sorry for my bad english I do my best !
