I hope this isn't against the rules, as I am not selling. But rather I am looking to buy.
Seems I remember that one of our DA regulars has a decent amount of butterfly chairs. I am looking for another fixed frame.
I found one on craigslist months back and finally got a cover for it. It has become my favorite outdoor perch and I would love another so my wife and I can use them side by side.
Anyone have one for sale? eBay has them for between 100-200 per. I was hoping to spend 100-125 total shipping and all. Let me know!!
i already have an extra cover just waiting for the perfect match!!!
I will add the dimensions I am looking for in a bit ... as they tend to vary.
Yeah quite a few I think....
Yeah quite a few I think. That's why KNoll eventually stopped making them, I think. Maybe someone else has the definitive story.
So because so many companies manufactured them, you find them in many various sizes and measurements. That's why picking a cover can be tricky if you don't measure ti first.
Would someone share the trick of measuring?
One of my very first modernist purchases when I was just out of college and in my first solo apartment was a pair of folding 'butterfly' chairs from Crate and Barrel. They may not have been authentic, but they sure were sturdy, and I still have them. I'd like to get some outdoor fabric covers made, but don't know how to measure them properly. All the cotton ones I have are all stretched out. And the outdoor ones I had, gotten at Urban Outfitters, were a perfect fit, but have disintegrative and are no good to measure from.
If you go to Circa50.com unde...
If you go to Circa50.com under the butterfly chair section there are instructions. Basically you measure from furthest point to furthest point on both the top and bottom "wings." If you are unsure you can call them. They are very helpful! I just received my cover from them and I am more than satisfied!!!
The only thing is outside, before the cover is sat in and broken in, the cover shows the folds and tends to come off easily with a gust of wind. After a couple of weeks this tends to go away.
