Burkes claim to fame they got the nod for the Trek chairs on star Trek
The Chairs of Star Trek:were converted from chairs made by Burke Furniture, a Dallas TX based furniture company during the 60's that produced Modern style furniture. In most cases an additional section was added to the backrest. Three triangular shapes were also attached near the bottom of the back rest to really give it that 23rd century feel. Three different models of "Burke" chairs were used

This is such an odd coincidence! I live in Lexington, and I was on I-64 right behind a truck that said 'Burke Furniture'. This was maybe four or five days ago. I thought it strange because I had never heard of a Burke Furniture in Lexington, and was assuming the name must be copyrighted. The truck also said something about it being a family-owned company since the 50s or 60s. I thought perhaps the pre-dated the knock-off company and were allowed to keep the name since they were already using it. I meant to mention something on here but completely forgot.
