Does anyone know what the fiber content was on the original webbing on Bruno Mathsson lounge chairs like the Pernilla?
Cotton? Jute?
And what width was it?
I have looked at a zillion pics but it's hard to tell if it's a smooth jute (hemp) or just cotton.
Better yet, does anyone know where I can get the right thing? I've looked at every online webbing supplier in the world (ok, maybe not all, but an awful lot!) but without knowing the material or width for sure, it's hard to tell what to get.

The webbing I can see on...
The webbing I can see on pernilla chairs and ottomans is a bit under 2.5 inches based on guesswork from stated measurements of the chair.
If there is a photo that is fairly high resolution shot perpendicular to the frame I could measure it off the photo. Wouldn't take but a minute. What takes time is finding a high res photo shot square on. You post it, I'll measure it.
Thank you, Leif-
that's often how I figure these things but in this case the owner is nearby and I can just have her measure the top of the chair inside the posts. There are supposed to be 7 widths of webbing across the top with small gaps between each so I can get it from there.
Now to find the best price...
I've struggled with this too
I think the webbing is 2 3/8" wide and is hemp, but I could not find any supplier in the Sates who carried the correct webbing. I found folks in Europe who were selling it on line, but it was not inexpensive.
However, if you want to restore a Mathsson chair with the correct material, it may be your only choice.
DING DING DING
turns out I just needed to keep reading the Google search results. It was on the fifth or sixth page.
US supplier, $13/yd, they very helpfully told me that the Pernilla 3 lounge chair requires 53 yards. This is a chunk of change but it's a few hundred dollars less than a UK supplier that the chair's owner found online (and that didn't include shipping...)
