Hi Brenda,
Brown-Saltman...
Hi Brenda,
Brown-Saltman were a furniture manufacturing company based in Los Angeles, during the mid-twentieth century. Many well-known designers including Paul T. Frankl and John Kean worked for them, and some of their furniture is increasingly sought after today.
But I'm afraid that's the extent of my knowledge. I don't know too much about the significance of the red label, although I have a feeling it refers to their later productions rather than their 1950s stuff, which I seem to recall had a organically-shaped yellow label with brown lettering.
Is there any chance we could have some more detail about your extending table? Even better, could you attach some photographs? We can then pool our collective knowledge and let you know more.
Best,
T
Brown Saltman Table - Red Label
Thanks T! Took some time for my 86 year old father to get around to sending these pictures of his table to me. Sorry I don't have more/better photos for you. The extensions drop lower and slide under the center to make smaller.
Please let me know your thoughts. Thanks so much for your help!
Brenda

It's a later label-70's probably, 60's maybe.
Earlier labels from the 50's look like this.

Tables without chairs command...
Tables without chairs command less and the table doesn't have a lot of...shall we say Je nais se quois...to make it jump out at anyone. Guessing you either have Craigslist or ebay or consignment as your only selling options. Those avenues for disposal are what they are and you should expect a lot less than what you see high end retailers trying to sell it for.
