They have these chairs throughout the British museum in London. I think they are awesome. Any ideas who made them?

Someone with no use for a bandsaw?
I'll bet someone at the museum could tell you. You werent able to find any hint on the undersides?
I don't think the assistants...
I don't think the assistants are briefed on who designed their chairs. Rather, the directions for the Elgin Marbles.
I looked on the undersides...
I looked on the undersides and couldn't find anything apart from chewing gum. One of the guides told me to stop. I guess it was weird me checking out their seat, when there was a room of priceless antiquities which I was less interested in! lol!
I'm sure someone there will
find out for you if you ask the right person. Telephoning or e-mailing "visitor services" or some such dept. is where I'd start. This is a cultural and educational institution, is it not? Keep at them and you'll have your answer.
It wouldn't be
at all unusual to find that these were made expressly for the museum. The order was surely large enough to make that a practical solution. Was there a time in the past 30 or 40 years when an architect or designer was engaged to do some new work at the museum ?
Gordon Russell?
The jointing on the arm reminds me of Gordon Russell work. They would be a likely candidate for the contract for BM.
