Vintage watches
I'm a bit suspicious about the source of these Braun watches.
Braun doesn't seem to be aware of it's own historic catalogue, I would assume the initiative came from Zeon producing company (thumbs up for them) and Braun is just running along.
I myself am a bit of a vintage collector (within reason), I currently own 7 watches or so.
This fifties AERO for instance.
I've had...
... this one since around the early 90's. Notice the "Made in Germany" on the front dial at the 6 o'clock position. The New Braun Reissue watches do not show anything on the front dial, and guaranteed that they will not show anything on the back either!
And for around 200 British Pounds, that's a big price to pay for a Chinese copy.
Maybe Niceguys are chinese...
Maybe Niceguys are chinese knock-offs 😀
When it comes to brands I must admit I like vintage Tissot's.
I have several, they are very well made timepieces, offer great style at a modest price.
The mousegrey dialed one is a recent purchase, I always loved their fifties logo...
The black Autolub is something special, the movement consists for the greatest part out of plastic mechanics, so it needs no lubrication (hence the name autolub). It's the ancestor of the modern swatch.
The Two-timer is a transitional watch too, and offers analogue and digital time watching. Although very eighties and in two-tone I like this watch very much, its a very slim and sophisticated design.
bj, the decisions almost always end with
the position of the hands when displaying or photographing timepieces with traditional radial dials. It seems the consensus is often a choice between ten past ten or twenty past eight so as not to obscure any markings and to present a balanced appearance. The smiley face usually wins.
Neat collection and pretty good pics. Thanks for sharing.
