Did Victor Lundy design them specifically for that Non-BIE Expo? So are they now defunct or are some of them left today?
The Phaidon book "The Sixties - Decade of Design Revolution" said that they were along with IBM Pavilion(designed by Charles Eames and Saarinen Associates) visual highlights of that otherwise undistinguished Fair.
Wow-I remember those!! Kinda like a Dairy Queen
I went to the 64 World's Fair with my family and distinctly remember those!! What a great site! I remember us all piling into my dad's Sky Blue 1960 Super 88 Oldsmobile(the one with the sidewards fins)and driving out there. What a great display of architecture and design.I especially loved the General Motors Futurama pavillion, and in fact made a cardboard model of it in art class, and received an A!!
!
One of my favorite subjects. 64 and 68 worlds fairs. (went to both)
Just had a grand time linking through sites with my morning
coffee...I've been traveling all week and spent 6 hours in traffic
last night. (6 miles took 2 hours at one point) Now home with my family.
Thanks for the link!
This Forum is specifically for World's Fair Discussion...
...but not very simple to use:

Otherwise great book...
...but it tells with just one phrase about Osaka Expo 1970:
