I picked up what I believe to be a Borge Mogensen Spanish Chair. After doing some research reviewing many other Spanish Chairs online and visiting my local store that sells Mogensen furniture still produced by the original manufacturer Frederecia - I've noticed a few inconsistencies.
For example - the back has two bars of wood vs. one with shape (that said the majority that I've seen online look like mine with two bars), the leather piece that wraps around the top posts tends to have a indented line in the leather and mine does not and finally the bottom of the legs tend to be rounded and mine are square.
Before I return the chair (which I can do), I wanted to see if these inconsistencies might be due to the fact that I might have an earlier model, perhaps the design has evolved over time, etc... I love the chair. I love that it has age. I just want to make sure it is authentic. Does anyone know how to spot a fake?

I vote fake
Look at the way the edge of the leather is finished. This is done to sub par leather that is not tanned all the way to the center and is still grey in the middle. Also, the way the leather is fitted around the top post is off, same as the squared legs, rear stretcher, and the too thick arms

... or manufacturer's mark on the frame?
I agree with kcbrains above, it looks like a good copy. The leather looks like it's been made recently, and certainly isn't original. While the frame looks older than the leather, there are details which make me pause, least of all the feet ? Mogensen liked to round off the ends of his armchair legs, whereas these are flat.

There is no label or manufacturers mark. From what I have seen - the newly produced chairs have a small plak...while the older chairs had stickers.
This is a tough one. As the wood does look old, and the leather looks old as well (in person). It looks as though it wasn't sat in often - is all. The leather on these chairs is meant to turn colour with age...which might explain why this is darker than what you can buy new.
