Is this an actual mid century design or so contemporary interpretation of it? I was expecting some label from Ikea or Pottery Barn on the bottom but didn't see anything. It has great form to it with a bent plywood seat but it's very small and light. Don't the legs and seat look very Prouve to you guys?

Dutch Original
This is a very nice vintage chair.
It was designed by Wim Boon and "Groep &" in 1947 and was produced by "De Toekomst" in Dieverbrug, The Netherlands.
This awardwinning chair is described in "Stoelen, Nederlandse Ontwerpen 1945 - 1985" by Peter Vöge and Bab Westerveld. Page 27 and 71. It's all in Dutch.
Published by Meulenveld/Landshoff in 1986.
ISBN nr. 90 290 8113 9
I can send you a scanned copy of the pages if you like.
Just send me a message: duuren at gmail.com
Met vriendelijke groet,
Chris

little correction
The publisher is correctly spelled as:
Meulenhoff/Landshoff. Sorry for the typo in my previous message.
By the way, the chair decribed in this book is not black, so possibly yours was painted at a later date.
Met vriendelijke groet,
Chris
