Bitossi fans (hello, barry) I didn't want to ask you before I posted these bird bowls on ebay because I didn't want you to think I was trying to be mercenary, but now that it's a done deal I'd like your opinion. Are they Londi? I think they are, just going by the impressions in the clay. I'm only familiar with the Rimini Blu stuff that you have posted on here and subsequent research into Flavia.
I couldn't however, find a distinctive example of his signature or a dictionary of Bitossi marks through time, etc. Therefore, I didn't feel comfortable in attributing them 100% to Bitossi.
Thoughts, anyone?

Does anyone know how to interpret the numerical marks?
the 3 digits followed by the slash and then 2 digits (or sometimes a letter(s)?
Is the date in there, or is it all strictly a model number?
I too am trying to unravel the Bitossi/Raymor marking system.
Those are nice bowls, I've never seen those before.
I think we should try to compile all known labels/marks into one thread. I've noticed on some of the Raymor labels there are 3 letters (eg, "BAG") and I wonder if those are designer initials?
When I have some time, I'll put together some images of labels and marks that I've seen.
I have a lot with numbers like that
There seems to be three kinds:
1. those with numbers like above
2. those that have a Bitossi,Italy stamped into the ceramic with a stamped insignia
3. those with a 'Flavia", Mantellipo, Italy stamped
also
4. I have an ashtray that simply has an "ITALY" stamped into the ceramic.
I think the Bitossi stamp (#2) are the currently available.
Go figure.
Londi signature
Barry, sorry, I have been having hard drive issues, as in I got in a fight with my beloved hubby and chucked my laptop at his beloved head. He ducked and the laptop hit the wall and, incredibly, broke. Have since learned that when in an argument, it's preferable to chuck beloved hubby's laptop, thus avoiding future hard drive issues of one's own. Ah me.
Anyway, I think you're absolutely right. The pieces with the numbers and the written word "Italy" are the older pieces. All of the pieces that I've found with the old Raymor stickers have that sort of mark. The only new piece that I've got is one of the reissues from Flavia and it has a stamp.
I'm still stumped about the numbers. For example, two of those three bird bowls have identical numbers but the third one has completely different numbers.
Also, there's a vase on 1stdibs that has a good image of Londi's signature. None of the Bitossi pieces I've seen have ever had any person's signature on them at all.
Bump
I've never before bumped a message in this forum...but I'd like someone to answer my question if s/he can. Does the mark on my bowl (above) indicate it was produced by Bitossi?
I know nothing about Bitossi and had never even seen a mark like the one on my bowl before this thread.
