Good Lord
Hasn't his thread turned into a whiny little sob fest? Funny, being that we're all grown up here...
I'll agree, I would take a slight offense to saying everyone with a skateboard is a dumbass. I happen to know a 44 year old designer who skates and designs skateboards who is anything but. You know, collecting illustrated boards is actually quite popular among adults as well. I don't skate myself, but I cannot fathom thinking that a a past time could automatically make a dullard of someone.
BUT, whining about people's insensitive remarks about an INANIMATE OBJECT (not a person) is quite silly.
sorry about the skateboard link.....
So...what to do with an old Miles Davis album(or Dizzy Gillespie)that is no longer spun? Why, a "birth of the cool" wallet is the perfect answer! Pretty and practical, too.

Funny how people put words in your mouth...
I never said "everyone with a skateboard is a dumbass".
I said "The moron element is pretty high amongst any ADULTS who still ride a skateboard."
I also said...."Of course i expect I'll hear now from the hordes of design addict readers who ride skateboards. If that's you...then my apologies...you're obviously the exception to the rule."
Of course I should have prefaced that first statement with "in my OPINION, based on my experience..."
I also mentioned that as a kid that I and most of my friends had skateboards. I also mentioned taking my nephews to the skatepark. I obviously don't consider myself or my 10 year old nephews to be morons.
I'm glad that a few people can find one or two people (who they may or may not have ever actually met) in their 30s and 40s who still ride skateboards and apparently aren't morons or in arrested teenage development. Those are the exceptions I mentioned i suppose. let's hope they aren't still wearing heavy metal t-shirts as well.
So I'll keep my eye out for those Miles Davis limited edition skateboards when I take the nephews to the skatepark. My guess is i'll never see any.
I'm still waiting for that Gerry Mulligan BMX bike. When my nephews get bored with Spongebob Squarepants and punching each other I'm sure they'll latch right on to modern jazz from the 50s.
