I am still looking for the hardware for this beech chair with leather strap armrests, so right now it is held together for the photo with little dowel scraps. I have not been able to find another example of this chair, and am hoping someone recognizes it. Perhaps something from the 70's?

Any idea what the sling/upholstery/webbing or whatever you sit on looks like?
I am thinking that might incline you towards European vs North American vs South American.
(Although the beech already inclines me against South American somewhat)

I know the backrest has two canvas straps held in place with dowels. The seat was a sling made of the same heavy sailcloth cotton canvas, which was wrapped around the front cross member on the seat and stapled, and also wrapped around the lower cross member on the seatback, and stapled in place.
I assume the fabric was original, but until a see a photo of other examples I am not certain.

Actually, I have the remnants of the fabric, but see now that I really do not know how it all went together, apart from the two straps that go across the back.
Edit: I found another set of tack holes that made it clear how the canvas was attached, so it was actually pretty straight forward after all, so it must have looked like this photoshopped image I just did.
