All beautiful lamps
but I wanted a floor lamp that was very large, imposing and stable.

"hey peg.. did the sonneman sconce you have sold on your website have a tag?
i have the floor lamp version of that piece which is spectacular and has yet to identify the maker or designer."
I don't recall if that one had a label, but I've had them marked before. I've also had the floor lamp version that you describe. They are very versatile designs. You can find them with different style/ shape magnetic heads. We have one of the wall lamps in our house with slender chrome heads that leave the bulbs exposed, and we have one more of the wall mount with the same square heads, only they are black rather than white. I used to have an old Kovacs catalog, wish I'd never let it go. It was full of wonderful designs.
I assume you are referring to this lamp:

Hi
If only there were more...
Hi
If only there were more of these around, I think you would like it. I found this wonderful Lightolier recently. I think its a great lamp. The perforated metal difusses the light nicely, and it lights in all directions, and creates some nice shapes on the walls. It is very light, takes a compact fluorescent perfectly. I think its a Thurston design from the magical 1952-1954 era.
