Midcentury great finds..
Wow, you sure found some great stuff, Barrympls.
My neighbor bought 6 white Bertoia chairs for $1,200. here in San Diego. Bargained the price down from 1,600. Wish I could be so lucky. It was a friend of hers who found them, he seems knowledgable re midcentury, etc.
I too really like Richard Schultz furniture and a few years ago I purchased a couple of used 1966 lounge chairs for $500. The slings were trashed so new ones are in order that are so outrageously expensive at $1,000.- $1,200 per sling. Crazy huh?! Actually the frames need to be sandblasted and repainted too. UGH!
I should keep an eye out and begin searching. Also, thanks to who ever posted the link to Craigslist N.J... sorry forgot who at this moment.
Details of the vintage Bertoia
Orleans, hey thanks for pointing out the difference in the details between the new, and older Bertoia chair it's good to know. I'll keep my eye out for that. Although I'm a detail oriented person I am not educated on the fine details of midcentury furnishing. I am sure this is the case with many people though.

It surely helped me identify good pieces and then I went shopping at eBay!
I had some knowledge from a late friend who bought and sold MCM. I have always had a preference for George Nelson Associates' designs, and I decided that I would stay away from the 5 or 6 iconic 'stereotype' pieces; Eames Lounge 670/671 (mostly because I didn't want a swivel lounge chair), Noguchi coffee table, etc.
Since I didn't have a clear decorator-type plan, I found and bought pieces I liked knowing full well that good pieces go together naturally.
I managed to get a real Saarinen Grasshopper lounge chair and ottoman (had to get it recovered), 1 Saarinen Tulip stool, an Eames LaFonda chair (had to get it recovered), a nelson Typewriter stand with the rare white formica top, 4 Eames EC127 upholstered dining chairs, a matching Eames round dining table, a Russel Wright Conat Ball dining hutch, an Aalto Zebra 440 chair (which I found at a store selling it less than half price as it was a display piece)!, a Milo Baughman two-seat sofa with custom Boris Kroll upholstery and a Florence Knoll angle iron retangular coffee table with wulnut grain formica top.
It's worked out well.
Like these:
I have seen them in various colors before. Good luck Zencat
