Saw these in a shop, I was told they were bought in south america, odd bases, anyone know more ? has anyone seen these before?

Dare not. Looks more consistent and pure regarding the intended transparency of this design. I've always had a little nit to pick with the leg/seat support bars. In the end, I root for Bertoias, but gladly welcome these.

Hmmm
I really like the design of the authentic legs, although I do get where you're coming from about the supports. The side chair is by far his most seamless design visually I think. But I would vote for the diamond as his best overall.
