So, I just spent 2 days staying in a run-down, dated, crappy hotel in Grenoble, France that was staffed by, quite possibly, the rudest people on Earth.

But.

In their lobby, they had 12 original, vintage Barcelona lounge chairs and one day bed. By the time I left this morning, I am quite sure that the management thought I was a hooker with a chair fetish because I spent so much time sitting in the lobby caressing and crawling underneath their furniture.

Anyone with those questions regarding authenticity of Barcelona chairs, I have hands-on info. Can't wait until that joint (Park Hotel Grenoble) goes out of business and has a "destockage". I will be first in line, euros in hand.

The lobby
was nice, the people and the rooms were the pits. Needs serious updating. Can't wait for the inevitable auction.
BTW, the Saarinen tables in the bar are fakes.

One of my best finds was from a hotel auction! An original white Nelson marshmallow sofa.

I have
obtained some really good stuff from hotel auctions through the years. You really have to plow your way through alot of crap, though!
Restaurant auctions are good, too, if you need some classic, basic white platters or nice quality soup pots and cast iron skillets.
