Hello, I found this chair, coming from the house of an old lady. Someone has told me it might be an original Knoll Barcelona chair. But I've found no mark or sticker on frame or cushions, etc. The foam inside the cushions is rubber made with ink stamp: "FABBRICATO IN ITALIA - PIRELLI SAPSA". Hope this detail can help id! If anyone can give me any advice that would be great. I have uploaded some photos here: http://s1128.photobucket.com/albums/m486/marchenoir
Thanks!!!!

summing up: my personal white leather Knoll chair has those seams on the frame, on both ends. The same frame bears the engraved Mies and Knoll engraved logo and signature (see image), so my white leather chair is 100% orginal and it HAS the seams on frame.
To go back to the content of the initial thread: can the black leather chair be a Knoll chair, considering that it has those infamous seams which are common to all original Knoll Barcelona chairs (or at least to those produced in the 90's, like my white leather chair)? Mark, did you forward images of the BLACK leather chair to your Knoll dealer? Or just images of my WHITE chair?
Hello Marchenoir.
The photo that I sent to the Miami Knoll Studio was of the op's Black chair. I am baffled by the seams in your frame... as my Knoll catalog states; Premium grade 304 bar stock stainless steel. Single piece construction ensures long term durability. Frame hand-ground and hand-buffed to mirror finish. Upholstery straps attached with solid stainless steel screw.
I flipped over one of my ottoman's to show what my older model frame is like. I will also flip over a chair, if you'd like. Perhaps I am mis-imformed.
Best,
Mark
