Hello,
I recently purchased a pair of Barcelona chairs at an auction. The cushions have attached a paper label indicating they were manufacture by Knoll International New York. However the steel frame has no stamps whatsoever on the legs. I thought Knoll chairs all have this. Or was there a time where Knoll didnt put them on the frames yet? I suppose my chairs are around 30 years old. Thanks for any help.
A real Barcelona?
One sure way to tell is to count the straps a real, licenced Barcelona chair will have 17 straps that are attached with stanless steel screws to the frame. The chair should be 29.5" w 30" d 30.75" h
For a long time Knoll did not stamp the base of the chair. This is a new practice.
