Yes, thanks for informations. Fastfwd told me already about the change of series (fm 149a).I am still working on the bakelite helmet. The ground is very bad. (Glue operations were already made in approx. 1970x). That means I have to re-open the glue mass, because you can´t varnish it. (You would see the hairlines and cracks again). I have to close a minimum of 15 other hairlines and have to bridge some other missing elements and cracks. It takes longer than expected:=) I must also re-construct the thumbscrews and have to re-engineer the wire-frame incl. find a way to re-design the "plexi-glass" or film..Hope I can finish this job until April 2010:=)
Now, I can imagine what Dan has done..specially the spraying to complete the polaroid helmet with a full-filled lacquer inside and outside will take a lot of time....So I think I will spend 200 h to complete this restauration. If you calculate 1h with only 10$, then you know why these lamps are so expensive:=) By the way..the selling price of the Polaroid Desk Lamp 114 was "only" 9.75 in 1941:=))))

For my information the executive model retails for a mimimum of 2500$ (without cracks and have to be complete). Specially your version retails sometime above 6000$ (primary market).If you spend some time on restauration, you will be a lucky guy in the near future... good luck...

For me its ok, if I get my work paid (sometime) ! Thats most of the time a huge problem, because a lot of people didn´t realize, that this work between Art and Design take a lot of effort.. But anyway I hope, that I don´t have to sell this wonderful lamp anytime !! Thanks for your informations and the brilliant video !! Rgds Mike
