Spotted an interesting 1960's, teak bureau bookcase with three drawers today. The makers stamp stated BM made in Denmark. Can anyone offer information on BM and what it stands for ??

Dear HP,
Thanks for the advice. I've known of the site for a few years, no luck on this occasion. Infact I seem to be finding less and less on the index site ?

Hi robo
BM is likely to stand for BRANDE MØBELFABRIK and comes through on index if you search for rosengreen-hansen.
Try that
Simon

THICKO ME
I now read that it is a bookcase with drawers which in that case makes it Bornholm Møbler.
These cabinets are very common as they were ordered in HUGE numbers by universities for dorm rooms.
There are several models.
One with just bookcase
one with bookcase top and drawers base
one with bookcase top and 2 door base
one with small tambour doors in the middle acting like a bureau with a pull out writing top and likewise the same configuration of drawers / cupboards at the base.
Thats me correcting my self and kicking me for not reading the text correctly to start with.
Simon

Simon,
...
Simon,
generous as ever with your time, especially bearing in mind most items on this forum could be found in your store.
You have infact hit the nail on the head again. The fourth one you describe with the tambour doors sounds an exact match. Although the quality of the bookcase was nice, I didn't tumble for it in the end.
