Hello,
Needed some chairs in a hurry and found four of these at the local Salvation Army store. The original blonde finish has picked up a coat of black paint and the seats have been recovered. Curious to know if anyone knows the maker.
Thanks for any help.
D

The legs definitely look like Thonet. Search Google's online patent database for 'Thonet' and 'chair,' and you should be able to find it.

Thank you both for the suggestions. Gave google patents a try and came up empty, in the end I wound up looking at every patent issued between 1930 and 1965 for - plywood chair. Although I did not find this design, it was a very interesting journey and I'm glad you sent me on it. Aside from the more famous Eames, Saarinen and Breuer pieces, got to examine some great lesser known and unknown designs. Suggest that anyone with the interest and an afternoon to kill take the trip.
Regards, D
