I have had nothing but problems with these guys.
My personal experence was this:

I ordered two sofas, a footstool and two chairs from them. The sofa, two chairs and footstool were to have taken 3-4 weeks to deliver and they took nearly three months.

The other sofa was to take 12 weeks and they kindly lent me a sofa in the meanwhile.

I should have been suspicious of them from the outset considering the salesman 'Martin Barnett' who is referred to elsewhere on this site slandered a number of his competitors and his own wholesale customers to get our order, and even suggested as a director he had knowledge that although Ocean was still trading and taking orders and customer's money it was on the verge of bankruptcy

I rang Martin every few weeks after the goods were due to check delivery and each time he gave a reason why they were late, the first time they were on the ship and it was on it's way, the next time they were waiting for the ship and so-on, each time contradicting the previous.

When eventually the sofa and chairs arrived the chairs were the wrong colour (after they first delivered entirely the wrong chairs and forgot the sofa and footstool).

His response was and I quote 'I don't care'.....'take me to court I'm a very rich man and I'll wipe you off the face of the earth'. He basically accused me of lying and told me it was physically impossible for the sofa to be the wrong colour.

It took a number of emails and phone calls over two weeks and finally photographs (he refused to actually send someone to look at it) before he has finally admitted today that it was the wrong colour. This despite him having told me numerous times it had been inspected prior to it being sent out.

I am currently awaiting the chairs to be replaced and have cancelled the order for the remaining sofa since I want no further dealings with him and he has threatened to sue me for cancelling the remainder of the order! He hasn't as yet apologised for the problems.

So I would tread carefully if you are considering using this company.

GREAT VALUE AT CLASSICFURNITURE
I WAS REALLY SURPRISED TO READ YOUR EMAIL
I FIRST CAME ACCROSS MARTIN BARNETT WHEN HE HAD HIS OWN SHOP IN MARLEBONE 6 YEARS AGO NOW(THINK HE'S SOLD IT)
HE THEN SOLD ME A CHARLES EAMES CHAIR AND STOOL WHICH IS STILL GOING STRONG
I DIDNT KNOW HE OWNED CLASSIC FURNTIURE 4 U INTILL I WALKED INTO HIS SHOWROOM AND RECONGNISED HIM.
HE MAY COME ACCROSS AS A LITTLE ECCENTRIC BUT HE CERTAINLY KNOWS HIS STUFF WHEN IT COMES TO FURNITURE
I BOUGHT FROM HIM THE MARBLE SAARANIN TABLE FOR £500 (RETAILS FOR OVER £1000)AND A STUNNING CORBUSIER 2 SEATER IN CHOC BROWN IN BUTTER SOFT LEATHER FOR £350
IT ALL GOT DELIVERED WITHIN 2 WEEKS AS WELL
I THINK WITH ALL COMPANIES THERE ARE GOING TO BE PROBLEMS
I ORDERED A SOFA ORIGIONALLY FROM THIS IS FURNITURE.COM AND AFTER 5 MONTHS AND HUNDREDS OF CALLS STILL NO SOFA !
I HAVE TO SAY THAT I HAVE SINCE SENT FRIENDS TO CLASSIC FURNITURE 4U AND THEY HAVE ALSO BEEN HAPPY WITH THE AMAZING PRICE, QUALITY AND QUICK DELIVERY SO GIVE IT A GO!

Hi Lee69
....this forum counts over 4000 threads and quite a number of us have learned to recognize real from fake, both in products and testimony. So say hello to Martin Barnett, tell him you gave it a try, you also might want to mention that nobody believes you....I hope he pays you anyway, after all he is a little bit excentric...

Just in case you didn't know why....
this picture had to be used. The Eames Foundation has seriously strict control of any images of Charles and Ray. And if you sell fakes, you definitely ain't getting permission from them. I wonder where this photo is from, a teacher from an old high school yearbook perhaps?

That dapper dude in the...
That dapper dude in the photo is actually Charles Beam, not Eames, brother of Jim, maker of cheap whiskey, who was known to have belted a few down before he set his last one on his "Saarinen" table and fell asleep forever one day in his "Eames" lounge.

Booker T. Washington
Looks like another fine American Booker T. Washington .
Howard the fake out artist should be ashamed of himself publishing a fake picture . maybe he is going to sue every one of us on design addict or maybe he is taking names and numbers!!!!
I bet he sues us all in British Court were they were those funny wigs . that would be cool.

Are you somehow suggesting that...
this picture is not the real Charles Eames??? I will let Martin tell the story in his own words:
....Because I know my stuff I needed a picture of this Charles Eames guy on my website....after all I sell his stuff. I soon found out that he was living in California...well, I happen to know that bar. It's a nice place, nice people, a little bit noisy, typical London east end. So I call and make him an offer on a marble Euro Sardinnen table on condition that I can have his photograph taken. I am a little bit suspicious by nature so I prepared some tricky questions just to be sure that it was the real Charles. Right of the bat, I ask him about his brother Ray, which I happen to know, is working with him. Apparently Ray is fine so I ask him to take a seat, on one of his own chairs by the way. We are chatting a few minutes because after the question about Ray, I ran out of difficult questions...and than, before he knows it I pull the chair from under him. He screams: Eh!! that's my chair! Now, that's what I call: getting it out of the horses mouth! it was obvious this was the real Charles Eames. So I ask him to join me to the underground station to take a picture in one of these automatic little studios. A did see the flashing behind the curtain but all my attention was on the slot were the strip with pictures would come out. I asked him to stay in the little booth just in case the pictures were not good enough. When the strip came down I grabbed it. I was n't going to give him the promised bargain on the marble table so I ran off....and now you people with too much time on your hands are telling me that this is not the real Chuck...give me a break!

This guy sounds funny!..i cant help liking him im sorry!, but it doesnt mean i would do business with him. Also, within the village in which i am currently staying on an "extended visit" there lives Bryan Adams,Jerry Hall and two Tom Jones, none of them are the famous celebs but they are real people. Martin..

Hmmm. Whenever I try to imagine what's going on in the minds of people like Martin Barnacle, I always go completely blank ... and numb ... it's simply beyond my apprehension. What a sad little life he must have ... along with Lee69 for actually standing up for this guy. A rich man, give me a break. He sounds ever so poor in basic human qualities.
