Can anyone tell me pls.
Have owned an Eames Chair for many years, and was told that it was authentic (it was given to me by my father who bought it in the 70's).
It has a wood veneer around the sides of the seat cushion which is lifting and breaking up.
My question is, do authentic Eames Chairs have veneer on them or are they solid wood all around?

Oh my...
That doesn't look right at all....an authentic Eames lounge chair doesn't have any exposed bolts, the armrests look a little too big, it looks like vinyl,.... I'm certain originals don't have air vents on the bottom...unless someone has done a series of bizarre and terrible repairs / modifications to it....
I'm sure someone more expert on the forum could provide more info ....
It looks like a
better quality knockoff from that era. Plycraft made the junkier ones but I've seen some with a Selig label that were nicer. They kept changing little details so there are a lot of different ones out there. I've never seen the air vents before and I think most of the ones I've seen have had a tilt mechanism on the base. This one is new to me.
