Hi Guys,
I recently bought this lamp. The price was right so it didn't really matter to me if it's fake or not. The colour and the shape look good to me (compaired to these pictures: https://www.wright20.com/auctions/2014/11/recherche/122?search=serge+mouille ) but i am no expert.
What do you think? Authentic or fake/reproduction?

Comparing the finer details of the two, this is what I see.
The ends of the tripod legs on the lamp in the Wright auction taper to a very thin diameter, thinner than on your lamp. The feet are spherical whereas on your lamp they are more of a football shape. The taper starts a bit higher up and is more gradual on the Wright auction lamp.
I don't know what you call the part in the third photo so I just added text and arrows to the photos! It looks like it has a slightly different profile but it's hard to say without a photo from exactly the same angle.
Yours does look old, though. And I don't know if the design was changed at some point because of manufacturing difficulties---I'm guessing not but I don't know. Seems like those feet on the one in the Wright auction would be an important design feature.
If it's not real, it's very, very close, and it's old, and you're happy with the price you paid. That's something.
Wow! Thanks for the great analysis Spanky!
I noticed the feet too but i thought that might be caused by a camera angle. I Did not notice the squared and the rounded edge on the swivel(?) part though.
I find it very hard to get more info on what to look for in a authentic Mouille lamp. So far this is the only help i could find: http://youhavebeenheresometime.blogspot.nl/2013/05/a-conversation-on-ser...
Does anybody have some more info on variations in production (along the years)? I know the shades always differ a little bit but what about the feet?
So more info/opinions please?
