Why on earth is this thing so damn expensive? I can't find it for less than a hundred quid.

It's out of print
and a lovely book !
Mine cost less than £20
It's often the case with niche market books that they don't get reprinted, just not cost effective for the large numbers that need to be printed.

Cost
Just had a look and the three I have cost £19.99 each. It really is a must have book though.

Yeah great book - you could...
Yeah great book - you could get it remaindered a few years ago for about £12. Do also try The 1940s Home (Evans/Doyle) - just a small book but pretty good for British postwar furniture, interiors etc and a lot cheaper

I used to pick them up for £2 or £3 pounds each! they are about £55 pounds each and £164 for the set sounds expensive but if you can attribute four of fives pieces with them they would pay you back very easily.

Yes, I also have those...
Yes, I also have those Glenister books - I found them in a charity shop, so certainly didn't pay that price either.
Arthur, perhaps you would sell one of your A&A books to me! I do hope this isn't the kind of thing that has to go on 'radar'... 😀

Well I hear they go for around the £100 mark.... I am afraid they are not for sale...besides if you bought it from me and decided it was not as good as you had heard you might resent the purchase.

OK Arthur
OK Arthur, you enjoy reading all your copies at the same time...
Can't see how hoarding the same book makes much sense... maybe you do this with other things? Maybe you have OCD.
