What marks it as original? He says it is.
Can't tell if it's a chrome base. Doesn't look it.
He says it's an original white base that's stamped.
Needs to be reup'd tho for sure.

Either way, is it wise to get? What would you do?
Price is cheap compared to Hive and Stardust.
This is what's for sale in orange.........

And the 2nd is the new style it seems at Hive and Stardust.........

The 3rd is also stated it's original with an actual tulip base.

I'd pass.
That tiny photo makes it difficult to tell, but the backrest shape looks wrong (the Artifort chair's backrest is not symmetrical top-to-bottom), the base construction looks wrong (and it looks painted, and it appears to be peeling), and the upholstery looks torn and stained.

Your 2nd photo is not a "repro"; that image was taken directly from Artifort's website. If you're looking for information about this chair, that might be a good place to start...

right, but these are all NEW. Seems the originals were in fact closer to the look of the distressed chair. Similar to this one.........

It looks original to me, too, including the white base, though of course you can't tell from the pic if it's been repainted. But they did come in white originally.

Looks genuine to me. The one that I used to own had a silver sticker with Artifort in blue letters. I was unaware that the bases were stamped. This is one chair that I regret selling!
