I bought this 20 years ago in an antique shop for $40-
It has no marks but it is on a very heavy black marble? base.
I have not seen another one like it
I was wondering if you have any ideas?
Thank you

The head is ceramic?
Interesting. Has a Deco look, but surely it's not that old-- or is it?

Pretty Sure it is that old.
According to the dealer it was from an American lot.
The older husband was getting rid of his late wife's "treasures"
I live in Australia.

It could be "old" in the sense that it's from the 1970's, or '80's--
sort of an "Art Deco revival" piece.
There doesn't seem to be any crazing in the glaze, to me it looks too bright & flawless to be 90 years old.

Check out
lindsey B a 70s/80s Art Deco revivalist. Looks reminiscent of their work.

Below is similar but not exact
Seller doesn't even venture to guess age-- which implies to me that it's newish.

well I don't know
I cannot figure out what it is made of exactly, a kind of speckled finish and right on the neck where it is attached to the marble it has a kind of clay fired look? See photo 3.
It looks in better proportion to the ebay link head.
It is very, very heavy.
