Hello I have read the forums page several times but have never posted anything. So here it goes! I might purchase these lamps and was wondering if they are in fact Murano ribbon lamps? are they worth purchasing? I have noticed the prices seem a bit high for similar lamps $850 a piece - $3900 for a pair. Are these prices unrealistic or appropriate for real Muranos?
I have tried finding them online but I only find similar colors and styles none exactly like these.
Thank you and I appreciate any information you guys might have

thank you! and yes they are awesome I would like to put white barrel shades and lucite bases on them! I will hopefully get them for a lot less than the list prices but It would be nice to know I could get a grand or so out of them if i ever decide to part with them 😀
Glad someone else but me enjoys them!

It is hard to say if you would get 1000.00 back with certainty but the market for pairs of Murano lamps seems pretty strong at this time. I have sold several pairs on Ebay in the 500-750.00 range. There is a strong possibility the lamps pictured may be Dino Martens which certainly would not hurt should you decide to sell them in the future.

Amazing, I agree with Riki, Arthur Sixpence and believe it or not spanky, these are low end Murano lamps with very litle style. I am sure that they were produced by one of the many "me too" glass makers in that location. There is always a bell curve with Venini, Salviati, and others being at the top, a great many in the middle, and these lamps somewhere at the bottom. Whatever the price they are too much!

Nah...I think they look great. Ricki, that piece is great as well but by no means are the striations on yours any indication of superior quality. Only a difference in technique. Murano lamps are greatly varied in style and tastes and rightly so. Also, those brass plated parts are fairly standard on many Murano/Venini table lamps of the 50s/60s/70s. Whether one finds them visibly appealing of course is a matter of taste. Quality is difficult to judge via grainy photo especially when it comes to glass.
Riki, did you happen to buy that lamp several years ago at the Cincinnati Mid Century Modernism show? I sold one there that looked identical. Great piece!

the bidding got up to $115 and I chose to stop bidding. Based on everyones opinions on them being ugly I gather it will not be easy to resell and the prices on them very from $10-3,000 i guess there is a sucker borne every minute and today I chose not to be that sucker. Mostly due to checking ebay and seeing a lamp going for 9.00 that I have seen on first dibs priced at $1,600! and only one bid! HAH!
I will find another set for less im sure.
