Cumberland is a manufacturer
They did (and still do I believe... I think they are still in business) make good quality furniture, mostly for the contract market. Some of their pieces were very derivative of well known designs like the Brno chair. To my knowledge they did not use any name designers but the quality of their stuff, at least the vintage pieces I've had or seen, is very good.
