red chair
is painted. Even the shock mounts have paint on them. Does this make it any less valuable? It had a vinyl cover over it, but was in such bad shape I took it off. I still have it.
Also, there is no Herman Miller logo on the underside, but it has all the same features as a Herman Miller. Not sure if it is still considered Herman Miller or not???? If anyone knows the answer to that question, I would be very appreciative for more info.
The seat is in real good condition because it did have the cover on it for all those years. It is still shinny, and lots of large fiber in the glass.

Red
Paint is likely not original. Other early upholstered Eames shells did come painted, either gray or greige. I don't believe I have ever seen a factory-painted La Fonda shell.

blue chair vs. red chair
So this is not my chair, but saw this and the description is: Rare Eames experimental arm shell acquired from an ex-Herman Miller employee years ago. Top side is a polished resin of some sort in parchment color, and the back side is more textured in a turquoise color.
I was just wondering if my red chair back could also be an experimental chair except in red color. What do you think?
