I bought this piece described as an Ib Kofod Larsen coffee table for France & Son. Compared to the France & Son piece seen in the web link below, the only difference is that the overhang of the tabletop on my table looks a bit longer, although this could be a camera lens distortion. However, there is no maker's mark on the piece at all. It may have been refinished, I am not really sure. Or, it may have just had a fresh coat of oil applied, and that is all. I know a lot of France & Son pieces were marked with a round metal tag, but mine has nothing. Any thoughts?

Thanks. I do especially like the organically carved shape of the stretchers on the table. The page at this url link shows the same table, the last image at the bottom of the page. The person has even included an image showing the France & Son badge. Mine has no indication that such a badge was ever on it (I believe these badges are inlaid into the wood). I have seen some older "France and Daverkosen" pieces marked with a stamp, but mine has no maker's stamp either.

I see that the webpage below...
I see that the webpage below identifies what appears to be a smaller version of my table as being a "503" coffee table designed by Edvard Kindt-Larsen in 1955, not by Ib Kofod Larsen. furnitureindex.dk also lists the 503 table as being by Edvard Kindt-Larsen. So, the evidence would suggest that is who designed it.

Thanks you very much for...
Thanks you very much for that information. Mine must be the 504, as it is 59" long x 20 1/2" wide. The only marking on the bottom is a single well-defined stamped letter "R" that is only about 1/4" tall. I can't find the remnants of any other stamping. Like the ones described, mine is also solid teak.
John Stuart
In the states we also see France & Sons pieces marked instead with a John Stuart label. John Stuart INC. imported the pieces here. Sometimes they will be marked with both the JS medallion and also with the FD mark and often "made in Denmark". The John Stuart medallion is the same size as the France & Son used so I assume they just switched them out when they brought them into the country.
I just came across an example...
I just came across an example of this same table, with this France and Daverkosen and John Stuart stamp, but with no medallion present. I had not seen this particular France and Son mark before, and figured maybe someone else might also find it of interest.
The "R" is stamped on the...
The "R" is stamped on the underside of the table, about three inches from the end, so it is not really close to the legs or anything else. At this stage I do not really have any doubts about who made the table. It is made of solid wood with no veneer, and would be very difficult and expensive to reproduce, and perfectly matches the two ends tables I have that go with it, which are both marked.
Stamped Letters
Here are photos of the stamped letters on my furniture.
The table has the letters "MQ" stamped on the inside edge where the table opens at either side, and facing "MQ" stamps on both leaves.
When I saw the stamped letters on the table, I started wondering if the sideboard also has stamped letters hiding. There was only one place I hadn't looked: on the hidden wood surfaces between the legs and the bottom of the sideboard. Unscrewed the legs, and sure enough, there are punched letters! "KK" is on one leg and "K" on the other.
There are a few clues that suggest the table and accompanying sideboard/hutch might be made by France and Son, but they are unmarked, which seemed unprecedented for France and Son, but your coffee table establishes a precedent.
Unfortunately, in my case, I can't find matching furniture, marked or unmarked, by France and Son or anyone else, so your precedent isn't very persuasive.... (yet).
Any chance you can post a photo of the stamped "R"?
Thanks!
