So true...
I made the bold statement on another thread that Saarinen table bases were cast iron... I've been specifying Knoll for 35 years and am pretty intimate with all their products... I was shocked when I looked at a current pricelist and discovered the base was "now" cast aluminum... I was confused, bewildered and dismayed that I missed the "switch"... And to accentuate a positive... I am a bit crazy... But that's the best part of me!

When did Knoll switch from iron to aluminum? One point on the time line for furniture detectives: My little laminate-topped side table's base is non-magnetic, and the top is marked "1970."
